Good news for those who defend our national heritage: the Santa Isabel church, a jewel of Portuguese art from the time of King Joseph I, obtained the prestigious Vilalva Award, from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with the project to recover the temple!
The intervention team was led by Engº João Appleton and included Nuno Proença (Nova Conservação), Miguel Vieira Baptista (Design), the A2P engineering company, the parish priest José Manuel Pereira de Almeida, and Vitor Serrão (ARTIS-IHA / FLUL) , in artistic research, in addition to the consultancies of Delfim Sardo and Julião Sarmento. It follows, we hope, the classification of the church by DGPC, a natural corollary of this integrated process of multidisciplinary intervention.
