To close the year, we propose an approach to the production of industrial tile from the second half of the 20th century, focusing especially on tiles with dimensions of 15x15cm that are not only the most present in the built landscape of this period but also those in which are observed all the production methods, finishes and the widest variety of patterns.

2020 marks the 500th anniversary of Raphael Sanzio's death, one of the greatest masters of the Renaissance. The Institute of Altos Estudos of the Academia das Ciências of Lisbon, through the Institute Adriano Moreira, organises a cycle of conferences dedicated to Raphael, coordinated by Professor Vítor Serrão, starting on November 25th until January 2020.

The IV Congress of Odivelas will be dedicated to the azulejo (tile), one of the true identity marks of our culture. With the participation of renowned experts and researchers, the work will focus on the areas of tile research, documentation, classification, inventorying, conservation, restoration and dissemination.

On November 20 and 21, will take place at Fort of Sacavém, in Loures, the Meeting Revealing the Heritage of Directorate-General of National Buildings and Monuments (DGEMN) 1929-2019.

From undergraduate to PhD, we will know what is currently being researched in Portugal and in the world! This is a unique opportunity to share and debate the latest perspectives on tile research in its various aspects.
