The ARTIS - Institute of Art History, part of the History Department of FLUL, offers training in Art History, Heritage and Restoration Theory throughout three Study Cycles.
The Institute was founded in 2009 as a new research unit of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. It is funded by FCT since 2015.
ARTIS-IHA publishes two journals, both with double-blind peer review: ARTIS - Revista de História da Arte e Ciências do Património and ARTis ON (published online in open access), along with other publications.
Sculpture is an artistic practice in which three-dimensional forms are created, either figurative or abstract, using materials such as stone, wood, metal, clay, and others. It is, furthermore, one of the oldest forms of human expression and has a history of development, influenced by various cultures and contexts over time.
All interested people and lovers of Goa's heritage are invited to the launch of the book "Heritage at the Crossroads: Preservation of Goa's Architectural Treasures", coordinated by Joaquim Rodrigues dos Santos (researcher at ARTIS - IHA/FLUL) and presented by José Filipe Monteiro.
