OPENING OF TENDER_SUPPORT FOR AUSTRAL AFRICA PROJECTS

Please be informed that a call for tenders is being launched by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) to submit project proposals on Southern Africa (South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana and Namibia).
Research projects, field work, scientific events and publications in the field of Social and Human Sciences are eligible, and sub-regional and Lusophone Africa-related proposals are encouraged. The project description should not exceed 5 pages.
IFAS co-financing granted up to 2,000 euros (maximum 1,000 euros for individual field work).
Requirements:
- Applications may be submitted by research units or individual researchers (including masters and doctoral students).
- No nationality requirement, although the prospect of a partnership with France and South Africa is valued.
- Proposals primarily in line with the Institute's programs: Archeology and Prehistory; Medieval, Modern and Contemporary History of Southern African Societies; Contemporary Dynamics: urban studies and social, political, economic and cultural transformations.
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2019.
