Exhibition «Under Our Lady's Mantle. Collections of Russian Art in Portugal»

Opens on September 21, at the Museum S. Roque, the exhibition «Under Our Lady's Mantle. Collections of Russian Art in Portugal», which raises the veil over a hitherto unknown artistic heritage: the collections of Russian icons in Portuguese museums and collections. 

Opening time change: 6:00 pm (not 5:00 pm, as previously announced)

Organized by the D. Luís I Foundation, the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon and with the support of ARTIS-IHA-FLUL, the exhibition is curated by Irina Marcelo Curto (center of Russian art and culture) and features an important catalogue with texts by Sérgio Gorjão, Vitor Serrão and Fernando António Baptista Pereira on Marian iconography, in addition to the descriptive sheets of the exhibited pieces by the commissioner. There will be a round of conferences to be released shortly.
