February 24th, 2021 | 18h00 [UTC] | Zoom platform [session to be held in English]

Islamic Geometric Motifs in Portuguese Tiles

AzLab continues to travel without leaving home! Next stop: Milan!

Aydan Aghabayli, from Azerbaijan, explores the use of Islamic geometric motifs in Portuguese tiles. This subject was part of her Master's thesis, entitled "A Parametric Envision of Portuguese and Azerbaijan Islamic Geometric Patterns". Currently enrolled in a second Master's programme, on Building Information Modelling (BIM), Aydan Aghabayli continues to explore the relationship between architectural heritage and computation. What new perspectives will he bring to tile studies? Curious? Then be sure to attend!

Registration via Google forms or by e-mail (redeazulejo@letras.ulisboa.pt).
Once the session is scheduled, each participant will receive the link and a password.

Invited speaker:
Aydan Aghabayli [Politecnico di Milano]

NOTE: this session will be recorded and partially made available on the YouTube channel of the Azulejo Research Network
