II INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON HYDRAULICS IN MONUMENTAL BUILDINGS
October 20 to 23, 2021

Both imply aspects of major importance for the functioning of any building: capture, distribution and evacuation of water.

In the last decade, research work has been carried out on the hydraulic component of monumental, religious and civil historical architecture, considering technical and artistic issues, not only in Portugal, but also in Europe. In this sense, the National Palace of Mafra was recently the focus of an innovative investigation that counted with the participation of a multidisciplinary team, from Art Historians, Archaeologists, Architects and Engineers, with the aim of surveying the route of the upper and lower waters from capture, distribution and disposal.
