Maria Teresa Caetano
With a PhD in Art History from the NOVA University Lisbon, she was Invited Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, a scholarship holder of the Gulbenkian Foundation and a senior technician at the Sintra Municipal Council. She currently coordinates the Office for World Heritage.
She is a member of the Association International pour l'Étude de la Mosaïque Antique, focused mainly on the study of Roman mosaics, their iconography and the workshops in which they were produced. Her research on these topics led her to participate in national and international conferences in Bursa, Madrid and the École Normale Supérieure, in Paris, among other locations. Her published work includes the monograph Animalia quae Lacte Aluntur: Mamíferos nos Mosaicos Romanos da Península Ibérica. Caleidoscópio, 2018 (Preface by Guadalúpe López Monteagudo).
She has also authored books dedicated to the Sintra region, among which Colares. Sintra Municipal Council, 2000 (with an updated 2nd edition in 2016); Do Solum ao Solar - Uma Praxis Ranascentista na Quinta de Ribafria.
