Maria João Neto
Maria João Neto is an Associate Professor with Aggregation in Art History and an integrated researcher at ARTIS - Institute of Art History of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. in 1985, she graduated in Art History from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. She completed her Master's degree at the same School in 1990 with the presentation of a thesis on O Restauro do Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitória de 1840 a 1900. Ph.D. in 1996 with a thesis entitled A Direcção-Geral dos Edifícios e Monumentos Nacionais e a Intervenção no Património Arquitectónico em Portugal (1929-1960). She has developed her studies and research projects, as well as thesis guidance, in the area of History and Theory of Restoration and Conservation of Works of Art and Integrated Management of Artistic Heritage. She is the director of ARTIS - Institute of Art History and the master's degree in Art, Heritage and Theory of Restoration.
