Maria Teresa Desterro


Maria Teresa Desterro obtained her PhD in Art History from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2008) with the thesis Francisco de Campos (c.1515-1580) and the ?Bella Maniera? in Portugal - between Flanders, Spain and Portugal, supervised by Vítor Serrão; a master?s degree in Art History from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (1996), also under the supervision of Vítor Serrão; and a license degree in History from the same university (1984).
Apart from being Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic of Tomar (since 1998) and director of the Department of Archaeology, Conservation, Restoration and Heritage since 2015, she is the author of books on modern art, with a special emphasis on Renaissance and Mannerist art in Portugal, and has written several articles for scientific journals, some of them indexed on the Web of Science and Scopus.
She is also an integrated member of CIEBA-FBAUL (Francisco de Holanda unit) and a collaborating researcher at Techn&Art-IPT.
