Joana Balsa Pinho
Joana Balsa de Pinho holds a license degree in Art History from the University of Lisbon and a master?s degree from the Universidad de Alcalá. She was awarded a PhD research scholarship by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
She has participated since 2001 in research projects promoted by different universities and has coordinated, from 2012 to 2020, different projects in the fields of cultural history and the publication of documental sources.
From 2018 to 2022, she was the principal investigator of the project ?Hospitalis ? Hospital architecture in Portugal in the dawn of modernity: Identification, characterization and contextualization?, funded by FCT.
In July 2020 she became part of Artis, the Art History Institute of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), as a hired assistant researcher within the project ?Hosp_ARCHI ? Circulation, appropriation and resignification of architectural models: Portuguese hospital architecture in the 16th century? (CEECIND / 00691/2018).
