João Miguel Ferreira Antunes Simões
João Miguel Ferreira Antunes Simões (1976) holds a license degree in History, in the subfield of Art History (2003), and a PhD in Art History, with a specialization in Art History (2022), both from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. From 2000 to 2003 he worked as a historian for the Municipality of Borba, where he published various monographs devoted to the town?s history and artistic heritage. From 2003 to 2018 he collaborated with different municipalities and project units in different research projects on art history and the socioeconomic reality of the Alentejo, Algarve and Lisbon. The projects included a study of the Convent of Trinas do Mocambo and a series of books on Loulé, Mexilhoeira Grande and Estômbar. He works since 2008 as a higher technician in the São Roque Museum, where he studies and promotes the historical and architectural collection of Lisbon's House of Mercy through publications and temporary exhibitions.
