Vanessa Henriques Antunes
Vanessa Henriques Antunes is an integrated researcher at ARTIS, the Art History Institute of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. She was awarded in 2018 a research contract by the Foundation for Science and Technology to develop the project "BRIGHT: BRing the hIdden to the liGHT. Safeguarding unknown painting collections from 16th to 18th century through material and artistic analytical research to recognize Cultural Heritage fostering community and sustainable development" (CEECIND/04141/2018), hosted by ARTIS.
Her research is focused on the scientific and technical analysis of artistic and cultural heritage, with a special emphasis on Portuguese painting from the 15th to the 18th century. She concluded in 2014 her PhD in Art, Heritage and Restoration at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, with a scholarship awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and holds a 5-year license degree in Painting Conservation and Restoration from the Polytechnic of Tomar, completed in 2002.
