José Carlos Meneses Rodrigues


José Carlos Meneses is coordinating professor at ISCE Douro (Penafiel) and holds a PhD in Art History from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (2004) in the field of Humanities - Arts - Art History. His PhD thesis was intitled Retables in the Lower Tâmega Region and the Sousa Valley (17th-19th Centuries). From Mannerism to Neoclassicism - Amarante, Felgueiras, Marco de Canaveses and Penafiel.
In 2021 he developed a postdoctoral project at FLUP intitled "Brazilians" in Fafe and the role of cultural guides.
He is the author of 60 articles and has cooperated in more than 20 viva examinations in different universities (Portucalense, UM, Salamanca and Piaget Institute).
Projects: 2008-2012 - Artists and Artisans in Northern Portugal (12th-20th Centuries), which gave rise to the database ?Artists and Artisans in Northern Portugal? - CEPESE; 2010.2015 - Portuguese emigrant entrepreneurship in Andorra, London, Nice and Monaco - CEPESE.
He has participated, since 2018, in the ERASMUS programme: Finland, Latvia, Poland and Hungary.
